SketchyScan uses AI to analyze content for common scam patterns including urgency tactics, impersonation attempts, suspicious links, and phishing indicators. For URLs, we also check domain age, SSL certificates, and typosquatting patterns.

Is my data private and secure?

Absolutely. We don't store your scanned content on our servers. Analysis happens in real-time and the data is not retained. Your scan history is stored locally on your device only.

Premium ($9.99/year) includes unlimited scans, Safari protection to block malicious websites, automatic SMS scam filtering, file/PDF scanning, weekly security reports, and full scan history. That's less than $1/month.

How does Safari Protection work?

Safari Protection is a browser extension that runs in the background while you browse. It automatically blocks known malicious websites and warns you before you visit suspicious links, keeping you safe without any extra effort.

What is the SMS Filter?

The SMS Filter automatically scans incoming text messages and filters out likely scam messages before they reach your main inbox. Scam texts are moved to a separate junk folder so you can review them if needed.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes! The free tier gives you 1 scan per day with core features - screenshot scanning, link checking, QR codes, and text analysis. Try it as long as you want, then upgrade to Premium when you need unlimited scans and real-time protection.

Terms of Service - SketchyScan

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SketchyScan ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Void Security ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer and operator of SketchyScan.

2. Description of Service

SketchyScan is an informational tool that uses artificial intelligence to analyze content — including text messages, URLs, QR codes, screenshots, and files — for patterns commonly associated with phishing, scams, and fraud. The App provides assessments and opinions based on automated analysis.

SketchyScan is an assistive tool only. It is not a substitute for your own judgment, professional advice, or law enforcement. The App does not provide legal, financial, or security advice.

3. No Guarantee of Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate and helpful analysis, you acknowledge and agree that:

The App may not detect all scams, phishing attempts, or fraudulent content (false negatives)
The App may incorrectly flag legitimate content as suspicious or dangerous (false positives)
Scam techniques evolve constantly, and the App may not recognize new or sophisticated methods
AI-based analysis is inherently probabilistic and cannot guarantee certainty
A "safe" or "low risk" result does not guarantee that content is legitimate or harmless
A "scam" or "high risk" result does not guarantee that content is actually malicious

You should always exercise your own judgment and caution when interacting with unfamiliar messages, links, phone numbers, or requests for personal information, regardless of any assessment provided by the App.

4. Assumption of Risk

You expressly acknowledge and agree that your use of the App is at your sole risk. Any actions you take — including clicking links, responding to messages, providing personal information, or making payments — are entirely your own decision and responsibility, whether or not you consulted the App beforehand. We are not responsible for any losses, damages, or harm that may result from your interactions with third parties, even if the App indicated that content appeared safe.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
Not submit content that violates any laws or third-party rights
Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disrupt the App or its services
Not use the App for any malicious, fraudulent, or illegal purposes
Exercise your own judgment alongside the App's analysis at all times
Report suspected scams to the appropriate authorities regardless of the App's assessment

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP AND ALL RELATED SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE, OR THAT ANY ANALYSIS OR ASSESSMENT PROVIDED BY THE APP WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR RELIABLE. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED FROM US OR THROUGH THE APP SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VOID SECURITY, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO:

Your use of or inability to use the App
Any content analyzed by or assessment provided by the App
Any action you take or fail to take based on the App's analysis
Financial losses resulting from scams, phishing, or fraud, whether or not the App was consulted
Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data or transmissions
Any third-party conduct or content

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR TEN DOLLARS ($10.00), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Void Security, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

9. Premium Subscription

SketchyScan offers a Premium subscription with additional features, available as an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store.

Premium is offered as an auto-renewable subscription at $9.99/year (USD)
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple ID Account Settings at any time
If you cancel, your Premium access remains active until the end of your current billing period
Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store refund policies

Premium features include but are not limited to: unlimited scans, Safari content blocking, SMS message filtering, file and PDF scanning, breach monitoring, Ask an Expert, and full scan history. We reserve the right to modify Premium features and pricing with reasonable notice.

10. Third-Party Services

The App may interact with third-party services including but not limited to Apple's App Store, AI providers, and breach monitoring databases. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of such services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts located in Connecticut.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
